Government Affairs - keeping the team informed and ahead of government actions:
- Identify, analyze, and communicate how potential changes in the legislative, regulatory, policy, and political environments could affect daily operational business activities and long-term strategy.
- Monitor legislative activity by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislation, advise on compliance adherence to strategic state political and regulatory requirements and advising executive management on necessary actions.
- Provide updates and information to leadership on new or revised law, regulations, and prepare guidance on action that may be necessary for implementation or compliance.
- Evaluate and coordinate opportunities for each business to both independently and collectively be part of environmental clean up and infrastructure solutions.
- Partner with the team to identify, evaluate and execute business opportunities.
- Act as a key point of contact with community leaders, and key business partners to assist in local efforts to create opportunities for growth.
- Establish and cultivate positive relationships with elected officials, regulatory agency personnel and stakeholders
- Develop and manage public relations components with business clean up and ongoing reclamation projects and sites
- Serve as a community liaison between the companies and communities for crisis management and local concerns
Primary Goals and Objectives
- Provide value to clients by monitoring and reporting on legislative activities, this includes weekly updates on client specific issues.
- Provide value to each partner and their clients with unique updates and insights on capitol activity and by directly lobbying legislators and state agencies to positively affect legislation and regulation.
- Grow the business and impact of the firm by identifying and on-boarding 3 additional clients on retainer in 2020.
We represent, report, update and monitor legislative and regulatory developments, providing clients with a strategic advantage over their competitors. Working within a firm, we partner with counsel to help clients be prepared - anticipate legal needs and view their business goals and objectives from a different vantage point. Providing these services in house provides information, insight and an ability to shape the public policy that affects them.
Through outreach initiatives, we develop and maintain key connections at the local government level. This provides the ability to help clients navigate challenges with city planning staff, city manager, planning director, or other official. Developing and maintaining these relationships for you is a value add for both the firm and the client.
